Anti-Gay Candidate Seeks to Oust Champion

Anti-gay foe Dave Wilson is at it again, and this time he’s “proud of it!” After winning elected office by pretending to be black in a majority African American district, Dave Wilson is now hoping to oust State Representative Jessica Farrar, in the March 1, Democratic Primary.

Wilson, an openly anti-gay proponent of the “no men in women’s bathrooms” effort to repeal the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance now boasts about his involvement in a new mailer appearing in House District 148.

Appearing on the mailer, this time as himself, Wilson leads his audience to believe his campaign has received the endorsement of the Houston Chronicle, when in fact the Chronicle has endorsed Representative Jessica Farrar.

“With 22 years in office, Jessica Farrar has become the 10th most senior state representative in Austin. And now that Sylvester Turner has left Austin for City Hall, Democrats are going to need all the seniority and institutional knowledge they can muster if they want to wage an effective defense against the Republican majority.” – Houston Chronicle

Representative Farrar, first elected in 1995 has been an ardent supporter of the LGBT community, women's rights, and the rights of minority communities. Democrats would be wise to remember Wilson relies on deception and low voter turn out to accomplish his goals.

Primary Day is Tuesday, March 1. Voting locations are open from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Share this article on Facebook and Twitter, and remind your friends to vote today!
